State minister of tourism and environment minister Aaditya Thackeray flagged off the Ride to MPower cyclothon, alongside BMC municipal commissioner Praveen Pardeshi and Founder and chairperson of MPower Neerja Birla, at the NSCI stadium in Worli on early Sunday morning.
The event was organised to address the importance to spread awareness about mental health and to remove the stigma around it.
The Yuva Sena chief tweeted about the event, saying, "Early this morning, I flagged off the Ride to Mpower cyclothon along with @NeerjaBirla ji and Mun Comm Pravin Pardeshi ji. The message is powerful and necessary, so is the medium! Thank you Neerja ji for your initiative (sic).
Neerja Birla, thanking Thackeray for being the part of the event, emphasised in a tweet on the importance to address the stigma around mental health, saying, "Together, we can and we will #StampOutStigma around #MentalHealth concerns!"
She also thanked, in her tweets, the BMC municipal commissioner Praveen Pardeshi for "reiterating benefits of cycling & establishing a dialogue," and also thanked the participants, volunteers, and the police by calling them "mental health champions".
