Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's multiple visits to Maharashtra within 13 months while linking it to the state's significant role in the upcoming parliamentary elections, reported news agency ANI.

Sanjay Raut criticises PM Modi: "PM Modi is coming to Maharashtra again and again"

"He (PM Modi) is coming to Maharashtra again and again. It is not that he loves Maharashtra that much, or he is going to Uttar Pradesh not because he loves UP. The Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh are more, after that it is Maharashtra," Sanjay Raut said while speaking to reporters in Mumbai, reported ANI.

He further criticised the Prime Minister for not visiting the violence-hit northeastern state, Manipur.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP claimed that PM Modi visited Maharashtra more than eight times in 13 months.

Sanjay Raut criticises PM Modi: "Why does he not go to Manipur?"

"Maharashtra will play a crucial role in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The government here is a failure. They cannot get votes for the BJP... He came here 8-10 times in 13 months. Why does he not go to Manipur?," Sanjay Raut said, reported ANI.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated development projects and initiatives at Solapur in Maharashtra.

The Prime Minister dedicated more than 90,000 houses completed under PMAY-Urban in Maharashtra.

During the public programme in Solapur, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of 8 AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) projects worth around Rs 2,000 crore in Maharashtra.

AMRUT 2.0 is designed to provide universal coverage of water supply through functional taps to all households in all the statutory towns in the country and coverage of sewerage management.

Further, he also dedicated 15,000 houses to Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur, whose beneficiaries comprise thousands of handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, Bidi workers, and drivers, among others.

Further, the Prime Minister will kickstart the distribution of 1st and 2nd instalments to 10,000 beneficiaries of PM-SVANIDHI in Maharashtra during the programme.

Earlier, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday attacked Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar over the split in the Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party and accused them of "stealing parties".

"Some are stealing their uncle's party and some are stealing somebody else's party. Have the guts to form your own party and take us on," he said in a swipe at Pawar, whose uncle Sharad Pawar founded the NCP, and Shinde, whose Sena was started by Uddhav Thackeray's father late Bal Thackeray.
