Water supply in many parts of south Mumbai was affected from Friday due to leakage in a pipeline and it is likely to continue today. The repair work has started and will take a day for the water supply to continue from reservoirs in Malabar Hill, Pali Hill and Worli.
A 900-mm pipeline in Powai started leaking in the morning. The repair work started soon after around 11 am and is likely to be complete by 11 am on Saturday.
The areas that are affected are Worli Koliwada, Pochkhanwala Road, BDD Chawl, Prabhadevi, Delisle Marg, Adarsh Nagar, Janata Colony, Worli Hill Road in G South ward; Mahim West, Dadar West in G North ward; Nepean Sea Road, Bhulabhai Desai Marg, Tardeo, Ridge Road, Mahalakshmi Temple, L D Ruparel Marg in D ward; and Colaba, New Fort, Back Bay, Military & Navy Division, Sabu Siddiqui Road in A ward.
"Please note that due to leak repair work, there is a possibility of low pressure and insufficient water supply in the above mentioned areas even on Saturday," said an official from the BMC.
