Two directors of Virar-based Vijay Vallabh Hospital, where 15 COVID patients were killed in an explosion in the air conditioning unit installed in the ICU on Friday, were arrested by the Crime Branch for negligence on Sunday.

The directors have been identified as Dr. Shailesh Pathak and Dr. Dilip Shah. The hospital has total three directors.

Sources said the hospital had not renewed its NOC from fire department and 'found them negligent'.

"We arrested them today and produced them before court which sent them into remand for one day," said an officer attached to Crime Branch.
