Vinod Tawde
Senior BJP leader Vinod Tawde has been promoted as the party's national general secretary, the second such honour for the state after the late Pramod Mahajan.
Tawde has been made the national secretary after he was denied a ticket in the 2019 Assembly polls despite being a sitting MLA from Borivli. The mystery behind the denial was never revealed even as Tawde accepted the party's decision without complaint. The leader has been in charge of Haryana for the past one year. He also worked on the PM's âMann Ki Baat' radio programme and government schemes implemented from the PMO. The elevation is said to be appreciation for his performance in the national team.
Tawde was a minister in the Devendra Fadnavis cabinet and has also worked as the Opposition leader in the Upper House. In 2014, he was elected to the Assembly with the second highest margin in the state.
