A slab collapse in the Vikhroli area resulted in the deaths of a father and his 10-year-old son.

The incident came to light on May 9 when a slab collapsed near Kailash Business Park, Tata Power House, on an under-construction building. When the fire brigade and other rescuing authorities arrived at the scene, they rescued two people trapped in the rubble. Unfortunately, the two individuals succumbed to their injuries after receiving initial treatment at the hospital.

The BMC identified the victims as Naresh Reddy and Rohit Reddy.

"My brother has been working here as a watchman for the past two years. The society members had written a letter to the builder, asking them to ensure that safety protocols were followed. My brother Naresh was on duty, and his son had gone there to give him dinner. Unfortunately, the slab collapsed, and both of them died. We demand justice and compensation," said Prabhakar Reddy, the brother of Naresh Reddy.
