Mumbai and suburbs are likely to see thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall, said the India Meteorological Department. IMD, in their forecast, predicted a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of rain in the city.
"Generally cloudy sky with possibility of light to moderate rain/thundershower in city and suburbs. Maximum & minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 34 degrees C and 29 degrees C respectively," said IMD in their forecast.
The IMD also said that the city will see a high tide on Thursday at 12.05 pm which could go up to 4.69 metres and later at 11.48 pm which could rise to 3.96 metres. Meanwhile, the weather agency said that the city will see low tides at 6.05 pm and early in the morning on June 7 around 5.54 am which could be as high as 1.77 metres and 0.31 metres respectively.

KS Hosalikar, Chief of IMD's Pune centre, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the southwest monsoon has entered Maharashtra. "Southwest Monsoon arrived in Maharashtra today on June 6. They reached in parts of Konkan including Ratnagiri, Solapur and further in Medak, Bhadrachalam, Vizianagaram and Uran-Islampur from the Bay of Bengal," he wrote in his social media post.
Meanwhile, in the forecast for Sangli, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik, Ahmednagar and other areas, the IMD said that there is a likelihood of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and moderate spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 40-50 km/h.
"Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and light to moderate spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nasik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli, Satara during next 3-4 hours. Take precautions while moving out," said IMD.
It added, "Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and moderate spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Sangli."
