Three residents of Mumbai have been diagnosed with Covid-19 BF.7 variants. This is the first time the city has reported the same variant which is the reason behind the surge in China. However, all two were having mild symptoms and one was asymptomatic. According to the civic health officials all are fully recovered.
BMC Executive Health Officer Dr. Mangla Gomare confirmed the development to Mid-day.
She said that "out of three patients two were having a history of traveling to China. While one patient came positive while she was about to undergo surgery and she was asymptomatic. The two who came from China developed mild symptoms of cough and fever and isolate themselves at home, and recovered."

"In our contact tracing only one person was detected positive for Covid-19 while the rest were negative. There is no need to panic because all the patients have recovered from home isolation," Mangla added.
