Police have registered charges against three individuals, among them the proprietor of a resort in the vicinity of Panvel in the adjacent Raigad district, for arranging a dance event without the requisite police authorisation, as confirmed by an official on Saturday.
The event, featuring renowned dancer Gautami Patil, took place at Vavanje village during the evening of October 12, stated the official.
"Despite denial of permission by the police for Gautami Patil's dance event, which some local residents sought to organize in celebration of an individual's birthday, the gathering proceeded from 7 pm to 10 pm. An orchestra band performed, and loudspeakers were employed in contravention of the stipulated regulations," noted the official from a local police station.
