The Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra, on Friday shared a post on Twitter that took people to a trip down memory lane. He shared an old advertisement about Mumbai's iconic Taj hotel offering guests a stay for Rs 6.

"So here's a way to beat inflation. Get into a time machine and go back…way back. Rs 6 per night for the Taj, Mumbai? Now those were the days…," he tweeted sharing an image of the advertisement.

"The Taj. Can you believe, a room @Rs 6?" was the caption on the ad dated December 1, 1903. The ad also described the hotel as 'luxuriously furnished' and came with all latest comforts.

The foundation of the Taj was laid in 1898 by Jamsetji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group. Taj opened its doors to guests on December 16, 1903.
