Not liking the hate you're getting for being an Instagram Reels creator? This time, the cops got your back. The Thane Traffic Police are inviting Reels centered around the theme of road safety to include in their annual awareness campaign.
The Road Safety Campaign is conducted across Maharashtra every year to impress upon people the importance of adhering to road safety norms. The 2024 edition comes with a twist where, along with posters and photographs, the people are being given a chance to make Reels as well.
"We noticed that Reels are the in-thing right now, in the sense that not only is there a craze for creating them, but people also spend a lot of time watching them. The creators have some great ideas and vision as well, which is why we decided to make them part of the campaign this year," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Rathod, Thane Traffic Police.
Those interested will need to submit their entries by February 7 and the top three best Reels will be awarded with cash prizes, after which the Reels will be posted by the Thane Traffic Police on their official social media accounts, tagging the creators. "The idea is to give rise to healthy competition while at the same time automatically educating the masses about road safety rules and why it is essential that everyone abide by them," said Rathod.
