Police have registered a case against a man in Maharashtra's Thane for allegedly defrauding a 69-year-old businessman for almost Rs 20 lakh in the supply of machines and rides for children in the game zone, an official said on Saturday, reported PTI.
The offense was committed between November 2022 and 2024, he said.
The official of the Naupada police station said the complaint was lodged by the businessman, Veerdhaval Ghag. The police reportedly registered the case on Thursday against the accused based on the complaint under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust), reported PTI.
"The complainant had placed an order for some machines worth Rs 22 lakh for the children's game zone. But as per the complaint, the material supplied by the accused was used and not new," he told PTI.

An official on Saturday said that the police have arrested a woman from Thailand for allegedly running a sex racket in Thane, Maharashtra, reported the news agency PTI.
The official said that the arrest was made after they conducted a raid at a hotel on Friday night, during which the police also rescued three women from Thailand, reported PTI.
"Based on a tip-off that a Thai woman was operating a prostitution racket and pushing women from her country into sex rackets in Thane, a team of the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of the police raided a hotel and nabbed her," DCP Shivraj Patil of the Crime Branch told PTI.
The three Thai women, who were rescued during the operation, were later sent to the Rescue Foundation at Poisar in Mumbai's Borivali, he said.
The police have registered a case against the arrested Thai woman under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, the official told PTI.
An official said on Monday that police have busted a flesh trade racket at a lodge in Maharashtra's Thane district and arrested two persons in this connection, reported news agency PTI.
The official from Central Police Station said, based on a tip, a police team raided the lodge in Ulhasnagar township on Saturday and rescued a woman from there, reported PTI.
The manager of the lodge and a waiter were arrested while a search was on for the establishment's owner, he said.
An FIR was registered against the three persons under Indian Penal Code sections 370 (trafficking of persons) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention) and provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, he said.
