On Thursday, members of a Govinda troupe rescued a mother and daughter duo from their second-storey flat after a fire started in the building.
According to the officials, the incident took place in Chandresh locality of Mira-Bhayandar area.
"The fire started in the meter room of the building and the two women were stranded in their flat as there was smoke everywhere," said local fire brigade official Jagdish Patil.
The two Govindas were heading for a Dahi-Handi event on a motorbike when they saw the crowd outside the building.

"The duo immediately pulled over, climbed to the second storey of the building and rescued the two women by cutting the window-grille," Patil added.
"They left the spot immediately and their names were not known. A fire brigade team reached the spot and doused the fire. Nobody was injured in the incident, he added.
The Govindas were part of one of the city-based Dahi Handi Pathaks who compete to form human pyramids and reach pitchers filled with curd and hung mid-air at Dahi Handi events as part of Janmashtami celebrations.
Meanwhile, At least 107 Govindas were injured in Mumbai on Thursday, while 11 such participants suffered injuries in neighbouring Thane city.
"As per the information available till 10 pm, at least 107 Govindas suffered injuries during the Dahi Handi celebrations in Mumbai. Of them, 14 were admitted to various civic-run and government hospitals in Mumbai. 62 of them were discharged after treatment, while 31 others continue to be treated on OPD basis," an official said.
"The injured participants were taken to various hospitals, including KEM Hospital, Sion Hospital, Rajawadi Hospital, ST George Hospital, Nair Hospital, Bombay Hospital and Cooper Hospital," the BMC official added.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had kept 125 beds ready at civic-run hospitals to treat the injured Govindas, civic officials said.
