An 18-year-old boy from Thane allegedly hanged himself at his home last evening. The Vartak Nagar police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating; till the time of going to press, they were at Thane Civil Hospital where the teenager's body had been taken.
The police said the victim, Niral Lagaria, was a resident of Savarkar Nagar and a student at KJ Somaiya college. An officer confirmed the incident and said the reason behind the suicide was yet to be ascertained. "The family took the body to Thane Civil Hospital for a post-mortem and other procedures. They have said the boy was found hanging. We are waiting for the doctor to tell us the exact cause of death."
