Taking cognisance of a photograph published in mid-day on December 31 wherein a police personnel was seen spitting inside rail station premises, Government Railway Police (GRP) Commissioner Quaiser Khalid has issued a circular directing all GRP personnel to avoid such behaviour. The circular further added that in case any violation is reported or noticed, the senior inspector of the respective police station will be held accountable.

The circular mentions that the photograph, under the headline Aak-thoo, published in mid-day showed the police personnel in his uniform, sitting on a cement wall which had a message asking the public to not spit in the premises, spitting. The civic body as well as the police are taking a number of preventive measures to stop the spread of Covid-19, which includes ensuring that the public are following the Covid protocols. Given this context, the photograph has tarnished the image of the police further.

Khalid has directed all officers-in-charge to ensure that all police officers and constables under their command do not do any objectionable behaviour in public places. He stated, "It should be noted that in case of any such behaviour by your subordinate police in the future, the entire responsibility rests with the senior police inspector."
