The second and fourth-floor slabs of a building on Grant Road collapsed on Thursday morning. A man was rescued from the debris and transported to J J Hospital. It is stated that MHADA renovated the building a year and a half ago.
Parts of the five-story MHADA building number 2, located near the Shalimar Hotel on Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, collapsed around 10.15 am.
According to Mumbai's disaster management agency, a slab from the second floor fell on the first floor, while a chunk of the first floor's flooring fell on the ground floor. MHADA renewed the building for one and a half years. The debris cleanup process is still underway, according to an MFB spokesperson.
