The Shiv Sena (UBT) party, through its mouthpiece 'Saamana,' has questioned the legitimacy of Bangladesh election results which was announced on Sunday, claiming that viewing the election results as a triumph of truth would be an insult to the people of Bangladesh.
The party raised reservations about the legitimacy of the election results, highlighting key aspects eroding its credibility, stated a report in ANI.
According to the report, Shiv Sena (UBT) questioning Bangladesh election results' legitimacy stated that the largest Opposition Party, the BNP and 15 other political parties had called for a boycott of the polls. It further noted that a sizable 60 per cent of voters abstained from voting, undermining the election's integrity.
Sena (UBT) questioning the legitimacy of Bangladesh election results in 'Saamana' wrote, "This cannot be called a 'victory of truth'. How can you call an election impartial if the main opposition party, BNP, along with 15 other political parties, have boycotted and 60 per cent of the voters have turned their backs on voting? Can the results of this election be considered reliable? Keeping the results of the general election within the ambit of democracy would be an insult to the people of Bangladesh. Only 40 per cent of the voters have shown support for Sheikh Hasina's government."
