In the aftermath of a tragic incident late Thursday night, where a speeding car collided with six parked vehicles at the toll plaza towards Bandra, claiming three lives and injuring several others, Mumbai police has booked the driver of the car, identified as Mohammed Sarfaraz Shaikh.

The incident occurred when the car, traveling at high speed from Worli, collided with a total of six vehicles parked at the toll plaza towards Bandra, news agency ANI reported. "Authorities have invoked Section 304 (2) of the Indian Penal Code in the case against the car driver. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic collision."

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Krishnakant Upadhyay said that the Toyota Innova that met an accident on the Bandra-Worli Sea link collided with a Mercedes Benz car just 100 meters before the toll booth on the north-bound lane of the sea link.

DCP Upadhyay explained that, following the initial collision, the Innova driver, apprehensive about potential consequences, attempted to escape the scene to avoid confrontation. This escape effort resulted in a loss of control near the toll booth, leading to the Innova colliding with several other vehicles. Tragically, three occupants of the Innova lost their lives, and nine individuals sustained injuries.

"Fearing that he might be beaten up, the driver of the Innova tried to escape from the spot and sped away. He lost control of the vehicle near the toll booth and rammed it into many cars, leaving nine people injured. Later, three occupants of the Innova were declared dead," the DCP said.

The injured, including the Innova driver, are currently undergoing treatment, with two individuals in serious condition. DCP Upadhyay highlighted that a total of six vehicles, including the Innova, were involved in the accident on the sea link.

Meanwhile, the CCTV footage has shown that the driver of the bus which ploughed into several parked vehicles in New Delhi's Rohini and left a man dead suffered an epilepsy attack.

The footage from inside the bus showed the driver apparently going through a seizure as the bus goes off road, PTI reported.

The accident occurred on November 4 at Vishram Chowk in Rohini and involved an electric bus of Delhi Transport Corporation.

A man crossing the road was killed in the incident, while another got injured. More than a dozen two wheelers, one car, and one e-rickshaw were damaged.

In the wake of the incident, police had booked bus driver Sandeep Kumar, who during interrogation said he got an epilepsy attack due to which he lost the control of the bus.

Police said the footage shows Sandeep in his seat as the bus goes out of control and speeds up. (With inputs from agencies)
