In the ongoing investigation of the Salman Khan firing case, the crime branch has apprehended a fifth suspect from Rajasthan. According to the crime branch, the suspect was identified as Mohammed Chaudhary, he is allegedly accused of providing financial support to those involved in firing five rounds outside Salman Khan's residence last month.
Chaudhary, a resident of Rajasthan, is currently being transported to Mumbai, as confirmed by DCP Datta Nalawade, who heads the investigation. According to the crime branch, Chaudhary was implicated in the conspiracy and allegedly provided financial backing for the crime.
The planning, which spanned over the past two months, included reconnaissance activities and the procurement of a residence in Panvel, as well as the acquisition of a two-wheeler for the execution of the crime.
Officials stated that Chaudhary financed a portion of the cash amount received by accused individuals Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta. "Once the accused is in Mumbai, we will present him in court to request custody," Nalawade added.
