Razzak's son Amjad has confessed to carrying out shooting during his interrogation by crime branch officers.

"Demolition notices to five properties, all commercial and next to each other in Chandu Studio Compound in Kalina, were sent to the person concerned with the date set as October 21," said a BMC official. The demolition was conducted by the H-east ward office.

Vira had secured the demolition orders just about a week before he was killed on October 15. He had brought the matter to the notice of the Lokayukta who had then ordered the BMC to raze the structures.

The deceased's son, Mayur, said, "We also had a meeting with senior BMC officials and brought other illegal properties owned by Razzak Khan to their notice. At least 40 orders of demolition should be issued in the coming days."
