After his Bharat Jodo Yatra enters Maharashtra on the night of November 7, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit a Gurudwara in Deglur, to participate in the overnight celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
State Congress treasurer Dr Amarajit Singh Manhas, who walked with Gandhi on Sunday in Telangana, told mid-day that the former Congress president was expected to stay overnight in the Gurudwara at Wannali and begin the walk next day from there. The Guru Nanak birth anniversary will be celebrated on November 8 and festivities will begin with kirtan and Guruparab ardas at midnight which Gandhi will attend. Gandhi is expected to visit one of the five takhts in Sikhism, Hujur Sahib, the Nanded Gurudwara, on November 10.

Manhas said he walked with Gandhi from Rampur in Telangana on Sunday. "My father Raghvir Manhas walked with Jawaharlal Nehru ji during the Quit India agitation and was jailed till 1945. It was a great honour for me to be with Nehru's great grandson who has embarked on a mission to integrate India. I told Rahul ji about the connection and he was very happy," he said. Congress workers from Mumbai have left for Nanded via road, rail and air. All hotels, lodges and mangal karyalayas there have been booked for their accommodation.
