A three-member committee investigating the alleged manipulation of blood samples of a teenager involved in the Pune car crash will submit its report to the Maharashtra government on Wednesday, an official has announced.

The Maharashtra Medical Education (MME) Department formed the committee on Monday, led by Dr Pallavi Sapale, dean of Mumbai-based Grant Medical College. "The report is being prepared and it will be submitted to the state government. The details of it cannot be divulged at this moment," said Dr Sapale in a statement, reported PTI.

According to the news agency report, police claimed on Monday that the teenager's blood samples were discarded and replaced with another person's samples, which showed no traces of alcohol, at Pune's Sassoon General Hospital.

Commissioner of the MME Department, Rajiv Nivatkar, confirmed that the report would be submitted to the state government on Wednesday. Nivatkar said, "The report (of the committee) will be submitted to the state government today (Wednesday) itself."

In connection with the Pune car crash, police have arrested Dr Ajay Taware, head of the state-run hospital's forensic medicine department, chief medical officer Dr Shrihari Halnor, and staff member Atul Ghatkamble, the report added.

The Pune car crash, which occurred in the early hours of 19 May in Pune's Kalyani Nagar area, resulted in the deaths of two IT professionals in their 20s. The Porsche, allegedly driven by a 17-year-old son of builder Vishal Agarwal, hit their motorcycle. Police reported that the teenager was drunk at the time of the crash.

Pune car crash: Sassoon Hospital proposes Dr Taware's suspension

Following their arrest for alleged manipulation of blood samples from a minor involved in the Pune car crash, the Sassoon General Hospital has proposed suspending senior doctor Ajay Taware and firing another doctor, stated another PTI report.

Dr Vinayak Kale, the hospital's Dean, told reporters that the administration proposed to the state government that Taware be suspended immediately upon his arrest, while Dr Halnor's temporary employment was terminated on May 28. "Action of suspension is taken at the state government's level. A proposal has been sent," he said.
