Traffic diversions issued for PM Modi's Ghatkopar roadshow
The Mumbai Traffic Police have declared road restrictions along Lal Bahadur Shashtri Road until Sion to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce annoyance for motorists.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Raju Bhujbal of Eastern Suburbs Traffic, the roadshow is expected to draw big crowds, which would disrupt vehicular traffic on LBS Road. As a result, between 2 and 10 p.m. on May 15, sections of LBS Road (from Gandhi Nagar Junction to Naupada Junction) and Mahul-Ghatkopar Road (from Meghraj Junction to R.B Kadam Junction) would be closed in both directions.
The announcement lists three new road closures: Andheri Ghatkopar Link Road from Ghatkopar Junction to Sakinaka Junction, Gulati Petrol Pump Junction from Hiranandani Kailas Complex Road, and Golibar Maidan and Ghatkopar Metro Station (west) to Sarvodaya Junction.
To minimise delays, motorists should utilise other routes such as the Eastern Express Highway, Western Express Highway, Andheri-Kurla Road, Saki Vihar Road, MIDC Central Road, Santacruz-Chembur Link Road, Sion-Bandra Link Road, or Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road.
