Hemant Sawra, the newly elected BJP MP, said on Sunday that the revival of the Dahanu-Nashik rail link project in Maharashtra will be his top priority.
Speaking to PTI, Sawra said he is committed to reviewing ongoing and pending projects in his constituency, Palghar.
Sawra said he will push for the immediate consideration of the Dahanu-Nashik rail link project in the upcoming session of Parliament.
The proposed railway link would increase connectivity to the interior regions of Thane district and reportedly cover around 167 kilometers between the Dahanu Road station and Nashik Road station.

He further said that he would systematically address the issues of health care, malnutrition, migration, and unemployment in the district, which has a considerable tribal population.
In addition, Sawra vowed to overcome the challenges of land acquisition to accelerate infrastructural projects such as the Vadhavan port and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train.
Two teen boys drown and three are missing in a water-filled pit in Palghar's Vasai.
Meanwhile, amid heavy rainfall, two teenage boys reportedly drowned in a water-filled pit in Vasai in Palghar district in Maharashtra on Saturday, a civic official said, according to the PTI.
The incident took place in Fatherwadi when a group of five children entered the pit to swim, the official said.
"Two of them, identified as Amit Sharma and Abhishek Sharma, aged 13 and 14, drowned, and their bodies were fished out. However, the remaining three boys are missing. We don't know if they drowned or ran away from the spot," he said, as per the PTI.
Valiv police have registered a case of accidental death, the official added.
Road accidents in Palghar
Three people were killed and 11 others injured, five of them seriously, in an accident involving a tempo and a maxi cab in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Monday evening, an official said, according to the PTI news agency.
The accident took place at Valwanda village on the Jawhar-Nashik road.
The three deceased persons were on their way from Dindori in Nashik district to the Jiwdani temple in Palghar's Virar, reported PTI.
The seriously injured people were reportedly taken to Nashik Civil Hospital, he added.
