Low crowding shown as green here on the live tracker. Moderate crowding is shown as yellow and dense crowding as red
With the frequent restrictions due to the pandemic and an aim to limit crowds on its station premises, the Reliance Infrastructure-led Mumbai Metro One on Saturday activated a live tracking section of passenger crowds at stations and in trains, and also enabled recharge of commute cards on its updated website.
The live tracker lists all ticketed areas of stations from the 11.5 km stretch of Versova to Ghatkopar, and all the trains' up and down positions at the various stations with colour-coding - with low crowding shown as green, moderate crowding as yellow and dense crowding as red. This will enable people to check live traffic status and real-time congestion on trains and stations. This is the first of its kind feature that allows commuters to plan their journey, avoid travelling during crowded hours, and comfortably reach their destination.
"There are certain parameters set and as the crowd exceeds a particular number, the colour changes giving an indication of the density of the crowd live on the website," an official said.
"In addition to this, we have enabled the Insta Recharge feature on the website which allows card holders to top up and upgrade their cards, thus avoiding waiting time at the station with no need to visit counters. Commuters can now recharge their Smartcards (having a minimum balance of R5) through Instacharge - 24x7 by using any debit/credit card," he added.

Another distinctive feature, with an upgrade, is âMetro Rewards' where commuters can access their âMetro Rewards' account through this upgraded and fully integrated website. Commuters can register, travel and accrue points, which they can redeem for various offers available from time-to-time. Other features on the new website include details of the latest Metro train schedule.
