The number of Covid-19 infections jumped past 10,000 on Tuesday, registering a rise of 35 per cent in 24 hours. The need for a lockdown will arise if the daily cases rise beyond 20,000," mayor Kishori Pednekar said on Tuesday. During the second wave, the maximum daily cases in the city had touched 11,163, on April 4.
