The Navi Mumbai police have arrested an auto-rickshaw driver and a labourer for allegedly electrical goods worth Rs 13.5 lakh from a container in Kharghar area, an official told news agency PTI on Thursday.
The incident took place on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, the official from Kharghar police station said.
Some unidentified persons broke open the container parked at a CIDCO water plant in Kharghar and stole various items including conductors and earth wires worth Rs 13.5 lakh belonging to a contractor, the official told PTI.
After examining CCTV footage of the area and working on various leads, the police arrested a 28-year-old auto-rickshaw driver and a labourer aged 32 late Wednesday night from Kharghar, he said.

The police were in the process of recovering the stolen goods, the official told PTI.
In another case, Police have registered a case against a person from Cuttack in Odisha for allegedly cheating a steel businessman from Navi Mumbai of Rs 52.82 lakh, an official told PTI on Monday.
The businessman in his police complaint said the accused posed as a steel sale agent, purchase steel from him in December 2021 and got it delivered to a company in Odisha, the official told PTI.
The accused also sold the stock to some other companies in Odisha and collected money, but did not make any payment to the businessman here for the purchase of steel from him, he said.
When the businessman asked for the payment, the accused initially gave evasive replies and later asked him not to come to Odisha, or else he would be beaten up, the complaint alleged, reported PTI.
Based on the businessman's complaint, the police on Saturday registered offences against the accused under Indian Penal Code sections 409 (criminal breach of trust) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), the official told PTI.
Meanwhile, Police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy in the toilet of a mall at Vashi in Navi Mumbai, an official told PTI.
The incident took place on Sunday evening when the boy visited the mall with his friends, he said.
The 25-year-old accused, who is an auto-rickshaw driver, took the boy to a toilet located on the mall's ground fall where he sexually assaulted him, inspector Sanjay Nale from Vashi police station told PTI.
The boy later managed to escape and informed his parents about the incident.
His family approached the police with a complaint and the accused was arrested, the official told PTI.
The accused was booked under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he said.
