Mumbai's test positivity rate saw an all-time low in the second wave on Monday's at 0.43 per cent. It was on November 20 that the TPR was the lowest at 0.51 per cent. The city also saw a significant drop in new cases while the number of deaths remained the same at 4. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, there were 115 new cases.
All the deceased had comorbidities. While three of the deceased were in the age group of 40 years-60 years, one was above 60 years of age. The doubling rate dipped and was 2,647 days on Monday. The city's recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 269 people recovered and were discharged on Monday.
The state saw a significant drop in new cases and Covid-19 fatalities. As per the state health department report, 536 cases were reported along with 21 deaths across the state. The state's case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 853 recovered and got discharged on Monday. Currently the state has 7,854 active cases.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a significant drop in new cases. As per the state report, 264 cases were reported in the MMR including cases from Mumbai. Apart from Mumbai, Thane reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR with 57 new cases. It was followed by Thane Municipal Corporation which reported 28 cases.
While Navi Mumbai saw 12 cases, Vasai-Virar reported 14 cases. Raigad saw nine and Panvel had 17 cases. MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered 15 deaths that were reported in Raigad.
