Mumbai’s TPR climbs to 13.2 per cent as 6,347 new Covid-19 cases reported

A Total of 6,347 new Covid-19 cases were reported on Saturday, taking the test positivity rate to 13.2 per cent. Six per cent of those diagnosed needed hospitalisation. Mumbai, however, reported one death. The doubling rate continued to see a drop and was at 251 days.

As per the state health department, 9,170 cases were reported with eight deaths in Maharashtra. Pune city registered 400 cases. The state's case-fatality rate remained almost constant at 2.11 per cent as 1,445 recovered and got discharged on Saturday. Currently, the state has 32,225 active cases.

As per state numbers, 8,077 cases were reported in MMR, including Mumbai. Apart from Mumbai, Thane reported 443 cases, the most in MMR. It was followed by 348 in Navi Mumbai. While Mira Bhayandar reported 266 cases, Panvel saw 135 cases, Vasai-Virar reported 200 cases, Raigad recorded 76 cases and Kalyan-Dombivli reported 178 cases.
