The city saw a significant rise in new cases as the daily number went above 200 with four deaths. With more testing, Mumbai's test positivity rate (TPR) also saw a marginal rise and it was at 0.68% on Wednesday. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, there were 258 new cases.
All the four deceased had comorbidities. While one of the deceased was between 40-60 years of age, the rest were above 60 years of age.
The doubling rate significantly improved and was 2,585 days on Wednesday. The city's recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 287 people recovered and were discharged on Wednesday.
The state saw a significant jump in new cases and fatalities. As per the state health department report, 960 cases were reported along with 41 deaths.

The state's case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 1,043 recovered and got discharged on Wednesday. Currently the state has 9,366 active cases.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a significant rise in new cases. As per the state report, 425 cases were reported in the MMR including cases from Mumbai.
Apart from Mumbai, Thane Municipal Corporation reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR with 34 new cases. It was followed by Navi Mumbai which reported 27 cases.
While Kalyan-Dombivli saw 21 cases, Vasai-Virar reported 22 cases. Raigad saw 12 and Panvel had 23 cases.
MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered 11 deaths. Raigad saw eight deaths, highest in the MMR. Navi Mumbai, Thane and Vasai-Virar reported one death each.
