While Mumbai's new COVID cases saw a significant drop as the figure fell below 200 on Monday, the city's test positivity rate (TPR) and deaths saw a marginal rise. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 184 new cases, four deaths and a TPR of 0.77 per cent were reported on Monday.
All the four deceased had comorbidities and were above 60 years of age. The doubling rate dipped further and was 2,010 days on Monday. The city's recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 225 people were discharged after full recovery.
The state saw a significant dip in new cases, but a marginal rise in the COVID-19 fatalities. As per the state health department report, 686 fresh cases and 19 deaths were reported across the state.
Maharashtra's case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 912 people were discharged after full recovery. The state has 11,943 active cases.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a significant dip in new cases. As per the state report, 316 cases were reported in the MMR, including the ones from Mumbai.
After Mumbai, Thane Municipal Corporation reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR at 27, followed by Kalyan-Dombivili, which reported 26 cases.
While Navi Mumbai reported 24 cases, five cases were registered in Panvel. The MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered 11 deaths, which were reported in Raigad.
