Mumbaikars continue experiencing the chills as temperature is the city dips. The Santacruz observatory on Sunday recorded coldest day of the season in Mumbai with lowest temperature dipping to as low as 16.1 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, the day temperature is predicted to remain below 30 degrees Celsius while lowest night temperature is predicted to be around 17 degrees Celsius. On Sunday too the day's temperature was recorded below 30 degrees Celsius.
The second lowest temperature recorded in the city this winter was on January 16 with 16.2 degrees Celsius. Last week, for consecutive three days Mumbai witnessed temperature below 20 degrees Celsius.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) records show that the minimum temperature till date recorded in Mumbai was in January with 13.2 degrees Celsius. Last year the lowest temperature recorded in January with 13.6 degree Celsius.
On Sunday, in Maharashtra's Pune, lowest temperature of 11.3 degrees Celsius was recorded.
The northern westerly winds are causing the chills in the city, the weathermen say. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued Red and Yellow alerts for North and Central India for Monday January 22. The Red and Yellow alerts are given when the regions are expected to experience cold to very cold waves.
Meanwhile, The Indian Meteorological Department has also issued warnings of very dense fog in North India. Ahead of the grand ceremony of Pran Pratistha at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, dense fog for next 24 hours and temperature as low as 6 degrees Celsius is predicted by the weather department.
The IMD has posted the weather update of Monday morning on X. IMD has predicted the maximum temperature in Ayodhya between 15 to 17 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature between 6 to 8 degrees Celsius for the next 24 hours.
