Mumbai: Woman suffers 70-80 per cent burns in BDD Chawl fire in Worli

According to an official from the Disaster Management Cell, the fire was reported at 4.24 pm at BDD Chawl number 55 near Jambori Maidan in Worli, owing to a leak in an LPG cylinder. The fire was extinguished at 4.42 pm

Two women were injured after a fire broke out in a house at BDD Chawl in Worli on Monday evening. Sunita Vanjari, 47, is in critical condition with 70 to 80 per cent burns. She has been admitted to the ICU of the civic-run Kasturba Hospital.

According to an official from the Disaster Management Cell, the fire was reported at 4.24 pm at BDD Chawl number 55 near Jambori Maidan in Worli, owing to a leak in an LPG cylinder. The fire was extinguished at 4.42 pm.

"The other patient, Nisha Patakar, 43, has been admitted to BYL Nair Hospital. Patakar is suffering from breathlessness, giddiness and chest pain from smoke inhalation. Her condition is now stable," said an officer.
