According to sources, the ED has summoned the civic chief and other two Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials in connection with the matter.
The ED has asked the three to submit all documents regarding the contractor's appointment on Monday and Chahal is likely to visit the agency's office.
Sources claim the inquiry was launched based on a complaint filed by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya in the Azad Maidan police station in August last year regarding alleged corruption in the appointment of the contractor overseeing the management of COVID centres across the city.
Sources claimed the case involves a particular Shiv Sena leader who is extremely close to the former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
