Mumbai: Western Railway to operate night block on Sep 1 and 2, check details

The Western Railway on Friday said that there will be no day block this weekend and it will operate a night block on ther intervening night of September 1 and 2.

In an official statement, the Western Railway said a night block between Vasai Road and Vaitarna station will be undertaken on the intervening night of September 1 and 2.

The Western Railway said, to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, a jumbo block will be taken on up and down fast lines between Vasai Road and Vaitarna stations on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday i.e. on 1st/2nd September, 2023.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the block on up fast line will be undertaken from 23.55 hrs to 02.50 hrs, while on down fast line it will be from 01.30 hrs to 04.30 hrs.

"There will be no block in the day time over Western Railway suburban section on this Sunday, 3rd September, 2023," the Western Railway said.

Detailed information to this effect is available in concerned Station Master's office.

Meanwhile, Western Railway said that the station improvement work of Mira Road station is ongoing at a rapid pace. Some of the works related to the station improvement is a deck over Platform No. 1, escalator, 23.5 m wide FOB etc.

It said, The south side staircase of the North FOB at Platform No. 1 is coming in the alignment of the above mentioned works. Hence, the south staircase of the North FOB is to be dismantled. Thus, the said staircase will remain closed from 3rd September, 2023. As there are two landings in the North FOB, passengers may use the North side staircase of this FOB at Platform No. 1.

In an another statement, the Western Railway on Wednesday said that it will extend trips of some trains from Bandra-Jabalpur.

In an official statement, the Western Railway said that it will extend trips of train number 02133/34 Bandra Terminus- Jabalpur special train.

It said, also the continuation of extension of train number 14808/07 Dadar - Bhagat Ki Kothi Express upto Jodhpur will be extended.

The Western Railway said, for the convenience of passengers and with a view to meet the travel demand, Western Railway has decided to extend the periodicity in Train No. 02133/34 Bandra Terminus - Jabalpur Special Train on Special Fare on existing composition, timings, stoppages, etc.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the details of the train is as under:

- Train No. 02133 Bandra Terminus - Jabalpur Weekly Special which was earlier notified up to 30th September, 2023 has been extended up to 25th November, 2023.

- Train No. 02134 Jabalpur - Bandra Terminus Weekly Special which was earlier notified up to 29th September, 2023 has been extended up to 24th November, 2023.

The Western Railway had previously decided to extend Train No 14808/14807 Dadar - Bhagat Ki Kothi Express upto Jodhpur on temporary basis on existing composition, timings, stoppages, etc. It has now been decided to continue this extension up to 30th September, 2023.

The booking for extended trips of Train No. 02133 will open from 1st September, 2023 at all PRS Counters and on IRCTC website. For detailed information regarding timings of halts and composition, passengers may please visit the official website.
