Mumbai is expected to get a relief from the heat it has been witnessing from past couple of days. The city's temperature is likely to dip for next few days, with the possibility of mild rainfall, the weathermen have predicted.
On Tuesday, February 19, the Regional Meteorological Department, at its Colaba observatory has registered maximum temperature of 30 degree Celsius and minimum temperature of 21 degree Celsius. While, at Santacruz observatory, maximum temperature registered was 32.9 degree Celsius and minimum temperature at 20 degree Celsius.
The temperature in Mumbai on Tuesday was lesser than last week. On Sunday, February 18, the maximum temperature recorded in Colaba observatory was 32.4 degree Celsius and Santacruz observatory was 34.4 degree Celsius, the Indian Meteorological Department's (IMD) Mumbai division informed.
The IMD Mumbai in its weather forecast report has predicted maximum temperature in the city at 30 degree Celsius on February 21 and 28 degree Celsius on February 22. The minimum temperature is predicted at 20 degree Celsius and 18 degree Celsius, respectively. The skies for next two days are predicted to be partly cloudy. However, IMD Mumbai has not predicted rain spells in the city in coming days.

But, independent weathermen have predicted possibility of mild rainfall in the city. An weather interpreter, with official X handle @MumbaiRains has said that Mumbai Metropolitan Region will get rainfall in between February 21 and 23. The weather interpreter explained that the changing intensity of Western Disturbance can be the main reason for the chance of rainfall, and high humidity (near 100%) is makes a possibility for rainfall near midnight hours of February 21-22.
Meanwhile, last year on February 19, Mumbai had recorded its hottest February day of the season, when the maximum temperatures went as high as 37.9 degrees Celsius.
This winter season, Mumbai witnessed temperature dipping as low as 15 degree Celsius. Mumbai witnessed the coldest day of the season on Tuesday, January 23, as temperature dipped to 14.8 degree Celsius, marking it the lowest temperature recorded this winter.
Mumbaikars experienced winter chills last month with minimum temperature dropping below 20 degrees Celsius.
