Mumbai: Water stock in seven reservoirs at 97.53 per cent, says BMC

As per the data shared by the civic body, the water level in Tansa is at 96.10 per cent.

At Modak-Sagar, 90.91 per cent of water stock is available.

In Middle Vaitarna 96.51 per cent, Upper Vaitarna 100 pc, Bhatsa 98.47 per cent, Vihar 98.74 per cent and Tulsi 97.20 per cent of useful water level.

The seven lakes have 14,11,683 million litre of water on October 12, against the full capacity, which is around 14,47,363 million litre.

On Wednesday, the collective water stock in the seven reservoirs that supply drinking water was at 97.86 pc.

Meanwhile, In Dr Subramaniam Nagar of the H-East ward Santacruz, although the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has recently installed a new water pipeline, residents are still dealing with substandard water quality and inconsistent supply schedules.

As per the local residents, the poor water quality has not only inconvenienced the citizens staying int area but has also given rise to a host of health issues. The locals in the area have been reporting an increase in skin-related issues and waterborne diseases such as diarrhea and dysentery.
