A well-known Bollywood diva, who ruled the silver screen in the 70s and 80s, has lodged a case of molestation with the Juhu police against a person known to her. The actress, who was allegedly being harassed for the last few days, approached the police after being unable to bear the "torture".

Sources said the actress, now in her 60s, and the accused used to be friends, but a while ago, had fallen out and were not on talking terms. Police sources said the accused had been sending objectionable messages to her through WhatsApp for many days, and had even landed up at her residence and created a ruckus on the building premises. Deputy Commissioner of Police Paramjit Dahiya said, "An FIR has been registered, and we are taking legal recourse."

The police have filed a case under IPC sections 354D (stalking), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 and 506(2) (criminal intimidation).
