Mumbai Police have beefed up security around Mukesh Ambani's residence, Antilia, after an abandoned vehicle with explosive was found outside, on Thursday. The Scorpio found with gelatin sticks was stolen from Airoli Mulund road.
"20 gelatin sticks have been found inside the vehicle," a Mumbai Police officer who had visited the spot stated. The Mumbai Police PRO said that only gelatin sticks were found inside the car on Carmichael Road and not an assembled explosive device. According to sources, each gelatin stick weighed 125 gm and could have blown up the entire vehicle if it was attached to an explosive mechanism.
The name of the company found on the gelatin sticks is Solar Industried India Limited based which is out of Nagpur.
As per sources, a handwritten letter was found inside the vehicle, the contents of which are:

The registration number on the vehicle's number plate was the same as that of an SUV in the family's security convoy, as per reports.
An FIR has been registered at the Gamdevi Police Station against unidentified persons. Police have registered the case under Indian Penal Code sections 286 (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance), 465 (punishment for forgery), 473 (making or possessing counterfeit seal), 506(2) (criminal intimidation, if threat be to cause death or grievous hurt), 120(B) (criminal conspiracy), the spokesperson said.
The Mumbai Crime Branch has formed 10 different teams to investigate the case. Every team has been assigned a different task.
According to sources, one team has been asked to scan all CCTV camera footage of the locality with the help of the housing society; the second team is scanning the CCTV camera footage at the traffic headquarter, the third team is scanning the CCTV footage at the Mumbai Police Head Quarter, Crawford Market. The 4th team is scanning the details of suspicious people living in the nearby locality. The 5th team is working with the forensic team to get initial clues about the suspect. The 6th team has been assigned the task of collecting the details of the Indian Mujahideen Member who threatened the Ambani family in 2013 by dropping a letter in their Marine drive office after which the family was provided Z plus security by the central government. Other teams are visiting different locations based on the details collected so far.
The owner of the Scorpio car, Manshuk Hiren, was brought to the crime branch office. He claims that on February 18, he left his vehicle at Vikhroli highway due to some technical reasons, and later it got stolen. He had filed an FIR with the Vikhroli police the same day.
