The Shiv Sena, on Friday, organised a state-wide protest outside the collector offices against the Centre over the rising petrol and diesel price

In compliance with Maharashtra chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray's call for protests, Shivsainik gathered in large numbers outside railway stations and collector offices across the state and Mumbai city.

Under the leadership of Shiv Sena MLA Anil Parab and corporator Shekhar Waingankar, thousands of Shivsainik reached Bandra collector officer and gave memorandum to the suburban collector.

Malad Parbhari, Kiran Koli along with Shivsainiks were seen protesting outside the Kandivli railway station.

Speaking with mid-day, local corporator Waingankar said, "The central government should immediately curb and reduce the prices of diesel and petrol. Also, rising prices of vegetables, food items are affecting the general public."

Earlier, Vinayak Raut, Shiv Sena MP and party secretary had said, "Petrol and diesel prices in India are the highest in the world. The fuel prices have been continuously increasing since the Narendra Modi government came to power. The Centre's policy seems to be of not granting any relief to the people… There is a lot of resentment among the people on the issue."
