Mumbai on Saturday saw a marginal dip in both the test positivity rate (TPR) and new cases, despite more than 50,000 screening tests. The city also saw zero COVID deaths - fourth since the start of the pandemic and third this month.
According to the BMC, the daily cases were at 284 and the TPR was 0.55 per cent. The doubling rate continued to dip and was 2,321 days on Saturday. The city's recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 275 people recovered and were discharged on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the state too saw a marginal drop in new cases. As per the state health department report, 854 cases were reported along with 11 deaths across the state.
The state's case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 804 recovered and got discharged on Friday. Currently, the state has 6,942 active cases.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a dip in cases. As per the state report, 447 cases were reported in the MMR region, including cases from Mumbai.
