Mumbai on Thursday reported 62 new Covid-19 cases, while one more patient succumbed to the infection in the metropolis, said the civic body. With these additions, the city's overall coronavirus tally rose to 11,54,229, while the death toll increased to 19,741, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a bulletin.
On Wednesday, the financial capital had reported 83 Covid-19 cases and one fatality due to the respiratory illness. The city has witnessed a single fresh death each for the third consecutive day. As many as 5,022 swab samples were examined in the past 24 hours. Also, 58 patients recovered from the infection in the past 24 hours, taking their cumulative count to 11,33,763 and leaving the metropolis with 587 active cases, said the bulletin.

Maharashtra on Thursday recorded 259 fresh coronavirus positive cases and one death, which took its overall infection count to 81,32,724 and toll to 1,48,390, the state health department said. A total of 211 patients recovered from the infection in the past 24 hours, taking the cumulative recovery count to 79,82,629.
