Mumbai records 2,255 Covid-19 new cases, two deaths

Mumbai reported 2,255 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths, raising its infection tally to 10,57,619 according to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on June 17.

As per the bulletin, 1,954 Covid patients recovered, and 110 Covid-19 patients were hospitalised today.

The recovery rate in the BMC area is 97 per cent. The growth rate of Covid-19 infections in Mumbai stood at 0.170 per cent for the period between June 10 and 16, and the case doubling rate is 399 days, the bulletin said. A total of 14,643 were carried out in the metropolis, taking the cumulative test count to 173,58,446.

Of the 2,255 new patients, 2,145 are asymptomatic and the rest have been hospitalised. Of them, 16 patients are on oxygen support, it added. Out of the 24,818 hospital beds, only 569 are.
