Mumbai records 15,166 fresh Covid-19 cases; 1,218 hospitalisations in 24 hours

Mumbai on Wednesday has recorded 15,166 new Covid-19 cases and 3 deaths, as per data released by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Of the new cases, 87 per cent are asymptomatic.

1,218 Covid-19 patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours out of which 80 are on oxygen support. The doubling rate of Mumbai stands at 89 days.

The city had reported 10, 860 cases on Tuesday.

Keeping in mind the surge on Covid-19 and Omicron cases, Mumbai has clamped curbs in public places, schools, colleges. Offline classes in schools, colleges and universities have been discontinued. Beaches, open grounds, sea faces, promenades, parks and other public places remain closed for people between 5pm and 5am.
