Mumbai: Protest today at Aarey to solve car shed issue

Angry about the fact that the issue regarding the construction of a car depot for Metro Line 3 is yet to be resolved, citizens have organised a protests on Sunday. They are demanding that the tin sheets surrounding the depot plot be removed immediately.

The protest has been planned near Birsa Munda Chowk, near the picnic point in Aarey Milk Colony between 10 to 11.30 am. A poster regarding the protest has also gone viral on several WhatsApp groups and social media associated with the Aarey Milk Colony cause.

The protesters have a total of eight demands, including the removal of metal sheets around the car shed land, take car shed out of Aarey, no concrete roads in Aarey, no SRA schemes for the adivasis, restore affected areas of Aarey forest, no petrol pumps and RTO, remove barricading immediately, and remove trimming notice from trees.
