Major repair works to the building will be done in the next four to six weeks

Dr Harish Pathak of KEM Hospital said. "There was a minor incident where a portion of a slab collapsed in the nurses hostel. One of our contractual employees was injured in the incident. It was a minor injury and she was given treatment immediately. She later went home after the treatment.
Kokil said that he has raised the issue of the faulty slab many times in the past two to three years but the administration did not pay attention. "The building was constructed in 1926 and many portions of slab and ceiling fans have collapsed over the years. For two to three years I have been following up with the administration, but they are not paying attention to the issue," he said.
The hospital on the other hand said that major repair works to the building will be done in the next four to six weeks. "Our senior engineers also visited the spot. The proposal for major repair works of the building is already in the pipeline. The structural audit was done and it was found to be fit to be repaired. The estimations of the repair works were also done. In four to six weeks we will undertake major repairs to the building," Dr Pathak said.
