The Oshiwara police on Friday registered a First Information Report against social media influencer Uorfi Javed and three others for filming a fake video of her getting arrested by the city police. The police have also arrested two women who essayed the role of the cops in the video and have seized the vehicle used in the video.
The FIR was registered by Assistant Police Inspector Dilip Sonawane of Oshiwara Police Station after he spotted the social media post in which Uorfi can be seen being taken away by three fake cops--two women and one man.
According to the information received, the viral video was shot at the Silver Spring Apartment on Lokhandwala back road in the western suburb Andheri and was uploaded on the internet on November 3 morning around 7 am.
The official said, "The video was created by Uorfi Javed herself and used it for publicity. The fake police officials were seen wearing Khaki uniform of Mumbai Police and the video was later used to spread disinformation concerning her arrest."
The officer added, "We have registered the FIR against actress Uorfi Javed and other three people under section IPC 171, 419, 500, 34 and started an investigation into this matter."
Mumbai Police also tweeted, "We have arrested the fake Police officers who acted in the video with the actress Urfi Javed and also registered FIR against actress Urfi Javed and other three people for making the fake video for the reels."
