The phase 2 of the vaccination drive's dry run in Mumbai has been delayed due to some systematic adjustments, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
"There will be a meeting today with the government on various issues and then a date for the dry run will be decided," said a BMC official. The actual drive will commence a day after the dry run, reported India Today.
The phase 1 of the vaccination drive, which is underway, included healthcare workers. In phase 2, frontline workers will be immunized.
As per the advisory of the central government, the phase 2 vaccination drive is set to start in the first week of February. It is noteworthy that the Mumbai Police personnel will be vaccinated in phase 2.

The BMC said it is ready to conduct both the phases simultaneously. "We have an ample number of vaccination centres, and staff and volunteers have been trained in advance for the purpose. Depending on the vaccines that we receive and permission from the Centre, we can double up the exercise and number of centres in the city," said a BMC official.
