On Thursday, devotees in the city immersed around 34,122 Lord Ganesha idols at various immersion spots on the one-and-a-half day of the festival, as per the BMC data.
Of these, 108 Ganesha idols was from Sarvajanik mandals in the city, 33,962 idols from households and 52 Hartalika puja materials were immersed from till 9 pm.

"Out of the 34,122 immersed idols, 13,362 were immersed in the artificial ponds. Around 13,294 Lord Ganesha idols from households, 54 from Ganpati mandals and 14 Hartalika idols were immersed in artificial ponds," says BMC official.

"No untoward incident reported during immersion," added a BMC official.
