Mumbai local trains: Over 230 long-distance trains, in Mumbai, are set to experience either full or partial cancellations between October 26 and November 7 as a result of the essential construction of the sixth railway line connecting Khar and Goregaon, a project announced by Western Railway authorities, PTI reported.
A statement from Western Railway (WR) details that 43 mail and express trains will face complete cancellations, while 188 others will be partially cancelled or short-terminated, a railway term indicating the early termination of services before the scheduled final destination.
According to the report, the disruption is attributed to the crucial non-interlocking work required for the construction of the sixth railway line connecting Khar and Goregaon, spanning an 8.8-kilometre stretch. The affected passengers are encouraged to check with Western Railway authorities for specific details of train cancellations and alternative travel arrangements during this period.
